Taiwan high mountain tea (part1)

ki

When I received an invitation to visit a tea farm in Alishan Taiwan to watch the 2008 spring harvest, it was really an opportunity not to be missed.  I took the high speed train rail from Taiwan to Chiayi, a 1.5 hr super comfortable ride.  Upon arrival, it took another 2+ hrs by car to the Dabang.  I have posted some pictures of a spring harvest.   A harvest is considered good when the morning is bright and sunny, which I am told is one of the factors that determines the quality of the harvest.  Even though the harvest is by hand, the ladies do use tiny razors to pluck the leaves.
